
Vancouver, British Columbia – February 12, 2025: Brokkr Mineral Resources Corporation. (“Brokkr”) is pleased to announce that it has made an important new appointment to its advisory board.
Samantha Espley is a senior figure from the world of mining and mining innovation. She began her career working for several prominent mining companies in a range of commodities. At Inco, she was superintendent in the Mines Technology Department leading a team of engineers, geologists and technologists in Inco’s operations at Sudbury. After Vale’s acquisition of Inco, she held a number of technical leadership roles including deep underground mining operations (Creighton), Engineering management (Copper Cliff), mining technical services (across 5 mines in Ontario), mining and milling technical services (throughout Vale’s North Atlantic region), before becoming Director of Vale’s Mining and Mineral Processing Technical Excellence Centre for base metals – including nickel – in North America, Brazil, Indonesia, and New Caledonia. Her tenure at Vale culminated with her becoming Director of Mining Technology & Innovation for base metals for the same region. Since leaving Vale, she worked in consulting for Inovinta Group of Companies and is now a Senior Executive Advisor at Stantec (engineering services) leading mining transformation.
She served as President of the Canadian Institute of Mining 2020-2021, continuing to serve as a director to this day. She is a director and President elect of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and a director of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame. She is also a director of two publicly listed companies: Northern Graphite (TSX-V) and Paramount Gold Nevada (NYSE).
Samantha is the recipient of numerous awards and honours including a Fellowship of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Canadian Institute of Mining Distinguished Service Medal, the Canadian Governor General’s Gold Medal for graduate research excellence and the Engineers Canada award. She is listed as one of the top 100 most influential women in mining.
