Anodyne Advances its Alliance With SFU Through MITAC’s Fellowship Award

Vancouver, British Columbia, June 10th, 2022 — Mitacs Innovations has granted Anodyne Chemistries Inc. (“Anodyne”) and The Simon Fraser University (“SFU”) a grant award of $20,000.00 funding by the Mitacs Accelerate Fellowship to support the Engineered enzyme architectures for renewable hydrogen generation.

MITAC’S Accelerate Fellowship aims to provide long-term funding and internship options for master’s and Ph.D. students; recipients can also access professional development training that helps them ensure project success and gain in-demand career skills. Mitacs empowers Canadian Innovation through effective partnerships that deliver solutions to our most pressing problems.

Anodyne is a biochemistry company developing a platform to harness naturally occurring enzymes to create high-value fuels and chemicals.

Catalytic enzymes have been the subject of significant scientific interest over the last decade, but their reactions are slow and low-yielding. Anodyne has discovered a scalable method of immobilizing enzymes to turn low-yield reactions into controlled high-yield performance. This is a globally significant development that has the potential to create carbon-negative alternatives to a variety of industrial processes.
