January 26th, 2023, Vancouver, British Columbia – Syniad Innovations Inc (“Syniad”) is pleased to announce that it has backed its first venture of the year – Green Analytics.
Green Analytics will develop AI solutions for sustainability applications, predominantly under its Green Metrics (built environment), Birch Natural Asset (natural assets) and Sunterra Analytics (ag-tech) divisions. The common technological theme within Green Analytics is the acquisition and combination of diverse big-data streams, coupled with predictive AI, to enable improved management of asset classes that, to date, haven’t taken top-billing in the digital revolution.
Dr. Kennedy originally spotted the digital sustainability opportunity a decade ago and has patiently built an impressive base of advisory clients. The investment from Syniad is designed to help Green Analytics make the transition from a service provider to a product-based venture. Dr. Kennedy is a post-doctoral researcher at UBC in the department of chemical and biological engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in business Information Systems from Washington State University, alongside a master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of New Brunswick (forestry and environmental management).
Dr. Kennedy commented, “The seed capital step is obviously a very big moment for any founder, but having watched how Syniad has grown its portfolio, I feel really confident with the team and the relationship that we’ve built. Syniad has a totally different approach to working with researchers, and I’ve enjoyed every moment. My goal is to take at least one of the Green Analytics divisions into recurring product revenues within 12 months as a major demonstration that sustainability analytics are absolutely essential when it comes to creating environmental benefits.”
