VANCOUVER, BC, January 4, 2016 – Syniad Innovations Inc (“Syniad”) is pleased to announce that it has accepted a new advisory mandate to help define the sustainability research priorities for the University Sustainability Initiative (“USI’) at the University of British Columbia.
USI was established in 2010 by Professor John Robinson, one of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change authors, which shared the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. UBC seeks to be the leader of sustainable campuses globally. Therefore, USI has continuing strategic relevance to UBC. Building on USI’s reputation for teaching and community engagement, Synaid’s role is to explore new ways of connecting USI to the university’s research mission, specifically around the definition and prioritization of research themes ranging from carbon management to advanced manufacturing, from novel fuels to a more sustainable resource sector.
Syniad’s CEO, John Davies, commented, “UBC has a globally significant record in its positioning around sustainability; we’re delighted to be immersed in articulating the sustainable research priorities for USI.”
