VANCOUVER, BC, JANUARY 19, 2019 – Syniad Innovations Inc (“Syniad”) is pleased to announce that it has secured a new advisory engagement with UBC’s Quantum Computing Research Cluster (“QCRC”).
UBC and the Vancouver ecosystem generally have a globally significant reputation for quantum computing research and commercialization. D-Wave Systems, for instance, grew out of a nucleus of researchers originally from UBC’s Physics and Astronomy department and went on to create the world’s first commercially available quantum computer. QCRC was established, with Syniad’s help, to build on this provenance and make research breakthroughs that would lead to a new generation of quantum hardware and software architectures.
John Davies, Syniad’s CEO, commented, “Quantum computing has been an important part of our investment thesis since Syniad’s inception. With pride, we can announce this new relationship with the QCRC group at UBC. The research talent at UBC is world-class, and we look forward to a highly productive multi-year relationship with this group of impressive researchers.”
